The Palestinian Art Exhibit opening reception kicks off the Palestine Film Series put on by Franklin County for Palestine and takes place prior to the showing of The Wanted 18 on Tuesday, August 11.

About
The Palestinian Art Exhibit features prints of paintings, the art of Tatreez (embroidery), and ceramics along with information that paints the story of Palestinian Culture. The gallery is open Noon to 4 P.M. on August 15 & 16, August 22 & 23, September 19 & 20, and September 26 & 27. The opening reception is Tuesday, August 11 at 5:30 in conjunction with the showing of the film The Wanted 18.
The artwork and experience boards are provided by the Palestinian Museum under their “Gaza Remains the Story”, a global initiative that exhibits the context of the Palestinian experience, focusing on the land, places, culture, resilience and people under military occupation, oppression and dispossession.
Additional artworks, ceramics and Tatreez on display are the private collection of Hamed and Patricia Bakir. Four framed Tatreez pieces are the front panels of dresses designed, embroidered and worn Halimah Bakir, Hamed’s mother.
